Waldo Fernandez born in Cuba.
He attended private Catholic schools until his family relocated to New York.
Fernandez was encouraged by his family to explore his passion for design and love of the arts, since he was a teenager. Waldo soon left New York for living in Los Angeles, for studing architecture and design at UCLA.
He was hired by Walter Scott, as an assistant set designer for 20th Century Fox. His set designs included furniture commissions, which caught on immediately, giving Waldo the recognition that changed his life.
His first showroom was opened in 1974,for him the home is the essence of one’s inner-self. He believes that creating one’s sense of style is very much told by the manner in which one lives.
The living room is a space that should be contemporary because it’s the face of the house.
Fernandez creates striking homes for Hollywood’s biggest names.
